Sensor Tower's latest analysis reveals the Q4 2023 performance trends for the leading dining and restaurant applications on the iOS platform in Europe. Insights show varying download and active user metrics for the top contenders.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the European dining and restaurant app landscape on iOS showcased a mix of upward and downward trends in user engagement and downloads, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a snapshot of how the top apps performed during this period.
McDonald’s - Non-US saw a fluctuation in downloads, starting at 143K in the last week of September and peaking at 223K in late November, before closing the quarter at 129K. Weekly active users (WAUs) followed a similar pattern, with a high of 3.8M in November and a dip to 2.5M by year's end.
Across the channel, McDonald’s U.K. experienced a general decline in downloads, dropping from 120K to 31K over the quarter. WAUs also decreased, starting at 724K and ending at 501K, with a notable spike to 848K in the third week of November.
McDonald’s Germany had an interesting quarter with a dramatic increase in downloads from 27K to over 100K in mid-November, then settling at 65K by the quarter's end. WAUs saw a steady climb from 466K to 651K in November, before leveling off at 603K.
Greggs faced a downward trend in downloads, from 78K in September to 17K by Christmas, while WAUs showed a modest decline from 223K to 163K in the same timeframe.
